Your inspection report doubles as a maintenance plan. Use the Monitor items as a starting point and add these seasonal basics.

Spring and summer

• Clean gutters and check that downspouts drain away from the house

• Service the air conditioner and replace filters

• Check the crawlspace after a heavy rain

Fall and winter

• Service the furnace or heat pump

• Disconnect hoses and shut off exterior water

• Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

Keep the report handy. When something changes, compare it to the photos from your inspection so you know whether it is new.
